Make your a luminary lantern, just in time for Halloween!

Join us for another freaky Free Fall Halloween with AVAM!

In this virtual, hands-on, art making experience with the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM), we'll create a luminary lantern together, just in time for spooky season. AVAM facilitators will lead the workshop over Zoom and provide help and inspiration along the way for all participants. Let's make something together!

Tips and Tricks:

  • This project is for all ages.
  • See below for a list of things you’ll need and a bonus list of more things that you could use.
  • After registration, you will be emailed a link to the Zoom room.

Supplies you’ll need to complete this project:

  • Glass or plastic jar -- clear, clean & with label removed
  • Paint brush
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • White glue
  • Tissue paper cut into small pieces - color is up to you
  • Black construction paper
  • Small LED flameless battery operated candle

Supplies you don’t need, but could use in this project:

  • Hot glue gun
  • Gems, pom-poms, googly eyes and other bling
  • Yarn
  • Markers
