Join TED speaker and artist sensation Béatrice Coron for this special visiting artist workshop! Béatrice is known for her silhouette compositions, where she transforms Tyvek–an ultra tough, synthetic, paper-like material, and yes, the stuff construction sites use to protect your house–into intricate cut-out stories and designs (SEE her amazing creations in AVAM's The Art of Storytelling exhibition!). Workshop attendees will take a journey with Béatrice as she shares her stories and reveals her special tips & tricks of paper cutting. Each participant will create a few cut-outs of their own to take home and display. All materials provided; sketches/designs/patterns for tracing or inspiration are suggested (but not required).

Cancelations for workshops must be made 5 days in advance in order to receive a full refund. Each of our workshops has a limited number of registrants and usually a wait list is started. We would like to offer everyone a fair opportunity to participate in the workshop and time to contact them in case of cancellations. Workshop registrants wishing to cancel their registration less than 5 days before the workshop date will have their fee considered a donation to the museum and our educational programs.
