About the Event
Join us at the AVAM on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, for a special celebration of Juneteenth, highlighting the incredible contributions and legacy of Black artists and culture. Enjoy a day of family-friendly events designed to connect the community through art, history, and storytelling. All events below are FREE with museum admission.

Pop-Up Shop with Ethnicitiees: 10:00AM - 12noon) Join us in welcoming local artist and entrepreneur Sean Ramon Montague of Ethnicitiees LLC who will be on site selling "Cultural Wearables" apparel and mugs featuring screen-printed portraits of iconic Black historical figures. Born from a need to teach Black history, the brand has built a 34-year legacy with national and international marketing success, including features on QVC, HSN, and MSNBC.
FREE Docent-Led Tour: Highlighting Black Visionaries (1:30 PM - 2:30 PM): Explore AVAM’s collection with our expert docents, focusing on the work and stories of our Black visionary artists.
