About the Event

Artist Wayne Kusy has been building sculptures with toothpicks since he was in the fifth grade. Since then, Wayne has used this household item to create large, intricate, models of ships, including the Lusitania, part of AVAM’s permanent collection.

Join us as we virtually explore Wayne’s studio and talk about all things toothpicks! After the live, virtual visit, Wayne will show us how to create a simple shape using toothpicks and glue.

Supplies needed:

Square toothpicks

White glue

Scissors or wire cutters

Paper

To best prepare for the demo:

Glue toothpicks in pairs

Draw a simple shape on paper as a template
