About the Event

Originally from Mexico, Baltimore-based artist Francisco LOZA creates Arte de Estambre, or Pressed Yarn Art, using colorful yarn that is cut, shaped, and adhered to wooden surfaces with wax.


LOZA's artwork has been featured in many past AVAM exhibitions, and other venues on the East Coast, and his intricate artwork explores themes of nature, immigration, families, and cultural traditions. 


Join us for a special hands-on workshop with LOZA to learn about Mexican artwork and be inspired to create your own piece of this unique art form.  Space is limited. Register today! A workshop for all:  Ages 10 and up! 


Cost: $30 per adult

$20 per child (under 18)

Members receive $5 off
