Group Visits & Tours
Experience AVAM from where you are!
The American Visionary Art Museum is a perfect destination for your school's field trip or group outing. And now we're offering virtual guided tours and hands-on workshops for groups of 10-40 participants.
VIRTUAL GUIDED TOUR
Each guided tour program will be a slideshow of images with a live docent tour guide to answer questions and discuss the artworks. Virtual guided tours last about 45 minutes each. Participants will be able to log onto the Zoom meeting 5 minutes ahead of time to troubleshoot any technology issues before the start of the program.

Cost
$5 per participant, due before your scheduled program, paid in one transaction. We can send you an invoice and receipt of payment.
Register
Fill out our Virtual Group Visit Request Form and choose your date, time and tour theme. Our Visitor Experience Coordinator will confirm your visit, send you a link to the Zoom meeting and will confirm your docent tour guide. On the day of the tour, log onto Zoom at the scheduled time, sit back, and enjoy your tour!
VIRTUAL HANDS-ON WORKSHOP
The American Visionary Art Museum invites you and your students to join us for a virtual visionary experience. Tap into your creative energy, experiment with unconventional materials, and make extraordinary creations! Workshops are inspired by the artists featured in the permanent collection and the current exhibition The Secret Life of Earth, and give students an opportunity to explore their creativity in a new way.
Cost
We have two pricing levels for our hands-on workshop:
- $5 per participant and AVAM provides all supplies and facilitates
- $2 per participant and AVAM provides a list of supplies and facilitates
Payment for your hands-on workshops is due before your scheduled program, paid in one transaction. We can send you an invoice and receipt of payment.
Register
Fill out our Virtual Group Workshop Request Form and choose your date, time and desired workshop. We have a menu of workshop choices! AVAM can provide the supplies, or you can “bring your own” supplies and we provide the instruction. See the workshop menu for additional details.
Supply Pick-up
After your hands-on workshop is confirmed and paid for, we'll choose a time for you to pick up supplies at AVAM (800 Key Highway, Baltimore MD 21230). AVAM will create a kit of supplies for each workshop participant. You will be responsible for distributing the supply kits to the workshop participants.
