Description
The American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) seeks a part-time Venue Manager for corporate, social and museum signature events. Flexible work schedule; Weekend day and evening; some weekday evenings and holiday weekend shifts required. Shifts are generally 8-10 hours, and must be available to work 3 - 4 events per month. Starting Pay $18/hour.
The Venue Manager is responsible for greeting guests, directing vendors to proper set up locations, ensuring vendors adhere to venue guidelines for set up and clean up, occasionally moving tables and chairs, ensuring all items are removed from the venue at the completion of the event, controlling basic AV equipment, and trouble- shooting any venue-related issues that may arise during the course of an event.
qualifications
Candidate must possess:
Excellent customer service skills
Be able to communicate effectively and problem-solve independently
Climb ladders and lift at least 30 lbs.
Maintain a professional appearance at all times
Previous off-premise catering, event management, or wedding experience preferred.
