About the Event

Originally from Mexico, artist Francisco LOZA creates Arte de Estambre, or Pressed Yarn Art, using colorful yarn adhered to wooden surfaces with wax. Featured in many past AVAM exhibitions, LOZA’s intricate artworks explore themes of immigration, family, environment and Mexican cultural traditions.

Join us for a special hands-on workshop with LOZA to learn his pressed yarn technique, create your own piece, and be inspired by this unique art form.

A workshop for all, ages 10 & up.
