About the Event
Our annual public program exploring social justice and our creative superpowers, hosted by AVAM and Art and Remembrance, returns with a timely conversation on immigration and belonging with artists and changemakers. It will explore how each of us can meet this moment of fear and division, build community, and leverage the power of the arts and artists to support the belonging and safety of all our neighbors, including immigrants.
Inspired by the powerful AVAM exhibition, Esther and the Dream of One Loving Human Family, featuring the story and art of Holocaust survivor Esther Nisenthal Krinitz and other talented creators, the evening will feature a conversation on immigration and belonging, showcase artwork depicting the immigrant experience, and offer an interactive workshop. Speakers include:
Francisco Loza, Baltimore-based artist and cultural diplomat
Catalina Rodriguez-Lima, Director, Office of Immigrant Affairs for the City of Baltimore
Rachel Perić, Executive Director, Welcoming America and Esther Krinitz’s granddaughter
