About the Exhibition

"In no other arena is the good news of aging more gleefully pronounced than in the many global manifestations of late-onset creativity generated by visionary artists who often began the most creatively productive time of their lives at ages 60, 70, 80, and even far beyond. Recent studies in neuroscience reveal that our brains do not age like our bodies. Creative challenge makes us confront limitations and develop inventive 'work-arounds' - exerting our brains in ways that not only keep them flexible, but may actually increase their mass and weight. Five featured artists were happy and going strong at 100+-years of age, while many of the show’s child artists were burdened with unspeakable challenges—upending the notion of aging as a time of only diminished capacity, and childhood as universally, 'golden.'" - Founder, Director, and Chief Curator, Rebecca Hoffberger on "Golden Blessings of Old Age & Out of the Mouths of Babes (Nicknamed, 'From Diapers to Depends!')"
