Holiday Party in the Museum Cafe'

Enjoy the warm elegance of our museum cafe', Cielo Verde, with its skyline views inside and out. (Heaters are coming for the terrace!) Add to the mix the fabulous food of Irena Stein of Alma Cocina Latina fame to make your holiday party complete. Price:

  • $750 Monday - Thursday
  • $1000 Friday - Saturday

Rental includes a 4-hour event for up to 30 people and access to the museum's 3rd floor gallery, currently hosting "The Science and Mystery of Sleep" exhibition.

Elopement and Micro-Wedding Packages

We're now offering "elopement" and micro-wedding packages through March 2021 for those who still wish to get married with smaller-sized groups in attendance. Please click here to inquire or book.

Elopement Package - $450

  • Available Sunday - Friday 6pm - 7pm
  • 1 hour ceremony in Wildflower Garden, on staircase or Cielo Verde terrace
  • 1 hour prior for set up/decor/photos, 30 minutes after for tear down and departure

Microwedding Package - $750

  • Available Friday & Sunday, 6pm - 9pm; and Saturdays 6pm - 9pm (when booked 30 days or less in advance).
  • 1 hour ceremony in Wildflower Garden, on staircase or Cielo Verde terrace
  • 2 hours for cocktail/dessert reception in Cielo Verde (catering costs separate)
  • 1 hour prior for set up/decor/photos, 1 hour after for tear down and departure

COVID-19 Update for Private Rentals

AVAM will continue to host private events as permitted by state and local guidelines. In response to the changing needs of our wedding couples, we are now offering special elopement and micro-wedding packages in 2020.* If you wish to visit our space as a potential venue for your event, please contact us at rentals@avam.org to schedule a personalized in-person or virtual tour. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

* The maximum size for an event at the museum is 25% capacity of our spaces, meaning: 122 people in the Jim Rouse Visionary Center, 90 in the Sculpture Barn, and 25 in Cielo Verde. General Information

Nestled at the base of historic Federal Hill in the south side of Baltimore's beautiful Inner Harbor, the American Visionary Art Museum is a unique and exciting venue for special events. Not only is the museum the national repository for the artworks created by self-taught artists, the building's architecture is an artistic creation unto itself – winning many national & international awards for its design and beauty. Our venue is easily accessible by foot (a 15 minute walk from the Convention Center), or by transport (Water Taxi or Charm City Circulator), and convenient to all of Baltimore's Inner Harbor hotels and downtown attractions. What event can you envision? We've hosted:

  • Wedding ceremonies and receptions, bridal showers and rehearsal dinners; corporate dinners, meetings and cocktail receptions; non-profit fundraisers and galas; holiday parties; and much more!
  • Our large Sculpture Barn & Garden can accommodate up to 125 seated for dinner & dancing, or 250+ for a standing cocktail reception.
  • The Jim Rouse Visionary Center 3rd floor banquet room can accommodate up to 400 guests comfortably, so it's the perfect spot for cocktails, dinner & dancing for 150+ guests!
  • Or you can rent both our spaces for a large-scale cocktail party.
